1966 Chevrolet Corvair 500 4-Dr. Sport Sedan
The four-door Corvair 500 brought the rear-engine, air-cooled flat-six to practical family buyers. The second-generation car wore a revised grille and taillights for 1966, but Corvair sales fell by more than half as the fallout from Nader's 'Unsafe at Any Speed' and buyers' shift to the Mustang and Chevy II took their toll.
